Year-end should not come as a shock.

For a lot of directors the accounts turn up late, the corporation tax bill comes as an unwelcome surprise, and nobody explains what any of it means. With the work done early and explained properly, none of that needs to happen.

Let's fix it

You find out what you owe HMRC weeks before it's due, with no time left to plan for it.

Your accounts are filed, but never explained to you in a way you can use.

You're never sure you've claimed everything, whether that is capital allowances, the right expenses or the most efficient way to take profit.

Deadlines creep up and you find yourself chasing your accountant for progress.

What you get

Everything your company has to file, prepared with care and on time.

One fixed fee covers the statutory work, the tax return, and the advice that comes with it.

Statutory year-end accounts

Full company accounts prepared to FRS 105/102 standard, checked, and filed with Companies House on time.

CT600 corporation tax return

Your corporation tax computed with marginal relief where it applies, filed with HMRC, and the exact figure to pay explained up front.

Allowances & reliefs checked

Capital allowances, full expensing and R&D relief where relevant, all checked so that nothing which legitimately reduces your bill is overlooked.

Deadlines managed for you

We track every filing date and complete the work early, so a late-filing penalty should never arise.

A proper year-end meeting

We go through the numbers with you, explaining what they mean, what has changed since last year and what you might do differently in the year ahead.

Good to know

Year-End Accounts & Corporation Tax, answered.

When are limited company accounts and corporation tax due?

Your first accounts are usually due to Companies House 21 months after incorporation, then 9 months after each year-end. Corporation tax is payable 9 months and 1 day after your year-end, and the CT600 return is filed within 12 months. We aim to have everything completed well ahead of these dates so that you can plan for the bill.

What is marginal relief and will it affect my bill?

Since April 2023 corporation tax is 19% on profits up to £50,000 and 25% above £250,000, with marginal relief tapering the rate in between. It also depends on how many associated companies you have. We calculate it precisely and, where it helps, plan around it.

Can you take over from my current accountant mid-year?

Yes, and switching is straightforward. We write to your previous accountant for professional clearance and the handover, deal with HMRC's agent authorisation, and pick everything up from there. All it needs from you is a signature, and it takes very little of your time.

Do you work with companies outside Kent?

Yes. We're cloud-based, so we look after limited companies across the UK. Being rooted in Kent since 2011 means you can also come and see us in person if you'd like to.
